Additional time has passed in the world of jailbreaking, which means that yet more packages and tweaks have been released and updated to offer full iOS 10 compatibility for those devices jailbroken using the latest yalu102 release.
Device owners will undeniably have their favorite packages for which they are keeping their eyes open for, but there are also new ones being released, such as Spin (iOS 10) which instantly introduces gorgeous looking circular media control interface directly onto the lock screen of your iPhone. Unfortunately, iPad isn’t supported right now.
First and foremost, Spin has already been available for iPhone on older versions of iOS, which means that some users probably already have familiarity with it.
However, this is a new package released for iOS 10, and without actually being hugely transformative, or functionality-changing, it simply breathes some fresh air into the lock screen media controls. Gone is Apple’s tired and unintuitive controls, and in are a set of elegant circular options which make perfect use of the lock screen real estate.
With Spin active, you will immediately see that the play/pause button, as well as the next and previous track buttons are placed in some cute little circles at the bottom of the screen, but yes, nothing particularly exciting about that. It’s the use of the album artwork and the progress bar which sets it apart from the crowd. The progress bar can be interacted with as well.
Additionally, the developer has also included a handy little Activator action which toggles between visibility of notifications on the lock screen and the Spin controls. This is to try and provide power back to the user as iOS will automatically place notifications over the top of the Spin controls when they are set to be shown on the lock screen.
Definitely not one of the most comprehensive packages out there, but one that will bring joy to those regular media consumers. You can grab Spin (iOS 10) from the BigBoss repository in Cydia for $0.99.
