Pokemon Go version 1.17.0 for iOS and 0.47.1 for Android are both in the process of rolling out, and while you are unlikely to see anything major in the changelog, there are fixes that we expect some people will be pleased to see make an appearance.
Whilst the Pokémon Go world is waiting for version 2.0 of the game dubbed Pokemon Go Gen 2 with the expected additional features and Pokémon, Niantic hasn’t forgotten about its existing version with the release of an updated version for iOS and Android which is now available to download, as well as further rollout of the game in eight more regions.
The first entry in the changelog is a fix for an issue “the Egg-hatching cutscene animation would sometimes be briefly visible from the map view” while a second entry quotes minor bug fixes. It’s true, fixes to text and animations are unlikely to get the Pokémon Go fan-base all excited, but we find it hard to complain about any kind of continual improvement that a developer bestows upon an app or in this case, game. Good on you, Niantic. The update is rolling out to the App Store and Play Store right now.
Speaking of good things going on with Pokémon Go, gamers in a plethora of new countries can now join in the fun where they were previously unable to.
Alongside the new update, Niantic also announced that Pokémon Go is now available to gamers in Bahrain, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. We’re sure there will be plenty of Pokémon fans in those countries who just cannot wait to get their shows on and go roaming the streets looking for those little blighters. Welcome to the game folks; we know you’re going to love it.
After all, the rest of the planet does!
If your region is amongst the new ones added, head on over to the App Store or Play Store, and you should now be able to download the update for the game to your device.
