You can now download iOS 12.1.3 beta 3 IPSW links and OTA update for your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. Here are the details on it.

Apple is back from the App Store Connect Christmas shutdown and its release cycle is back in full effect. In evidence of that, the Cupertino-based company has just released iOS 12.1.3 beta 3 and made it available to all developers with immediate effect.

Apple’s previous iOS 12.1.3 release arrive just before the holiday shutdown period on December 20th. That release came during a particularly troubling time for Apple and it’s iOS device users who had been served up a public release of iOS 12.1.2 which seemed to break a lot more than it fixed for a lot of device owners. In particular, a growing number of iPhone users found that iOS 12.1.2 caused them a lot of cellular data troubles. Hopefully, the Christmas shutdown has given Apple the space it needed to regain composure and push ahead into 2019 with releases of this nature which are bulletproof.

Time will tell on that front, but, for now, this latest release is a simple progression of the second beta which was released into the development community on December 20th. As the versioning suggests, it is a relatively minor bug fix release which looks to eradicate known issues and fix any niggles which occurred due to the release of iOS 12.1.2. As we already know, that release not only caused users some problems with cellular data but also contained a number of amends to comply with court rulings in China relating to Apple’s infringement of Qualcomm Inc. patents.

There is no such excitement held within iOS 12.1.3 but it remains an important update, nevertheless. It will, of course, appeal to developers who are not only committed to ensuring that the Apple ecosystem is the best that it can be but also ensuring that their own apps and games are functioning as expected on this latest iOS release.

If you are one of those registered developers who has a beta configuration profile installed on your device, then you can grab iOS 12.1.3 beta 3 OTA update directly from the Software Update mechanism found in Settings > General > Software Update section. For those who want a little more control in the form of a fresh installation on a test device, then you can grab the IPSW directly from Apple and go through a manual iTunes installation.
