Another Report Corroborates Three Rear Cameras, Square Bump On iPhone 11

We already know that as sure as day follows night, at least one new iPhone will be released this coming September. We’re already seeing plenty of rumors and renders as to what that might entail, and now Japanese blog Macotakara has reported that the iPhone 11 will feature a new, square camera system around the back of the device.

This fits well with previous renders that were shared by OnLeaks earlier this year, and sees the new iPhone have three cameras. That would allow them to be put into a square configuration alongside the flash, something that other phones have already done. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is one example, with each circular lens and flash placed into a corner of the square.

There’s no doubting that the look is one that’s pretty great, and Macotakara is citing Chinese suppliers as its source. The outlet has a hit and miss history when it comes to getting these kinds of reports right, although this one is starting to look like there may be something to it.

We certainly hope so, assuming that third lens is a wide angle one. That alone would make the new iPhone worth the upgrade in our opinion, but we’ll have to wait and see.

And that is the key here, because while we see more and more supposed leaks, we won’t really know what the new iPhone has to offer until much closer to September. At best, we might see information gleaned from iOS 13 once the initial betas start to land during WWDC, but even that isn’t guaranteed at this point.
